Seems I am wrestling ....
I have adopted the temporary habit of taking a length of about 6 metres of stretchy elastics out onto a run with me. This is new, because previously, I took large cones of rolled up line, 100 metres or more, and it meant taking a backpack and all got cumbersome and was not spontaneous any more. Well, I am currently reading about improvisation, .....need to keep things in the flow. Aili Bresnahan's research into the improvisational artistry of Live Dance is quite relevant as she describes the dancer's embodied and extended Agency (Bresnahan, 2014).
This all focuses onto the momentary and how it is being experienced. What is beyond the momentary? I have read around some of Simon Woolham's PhD thesis 'In Search of the Shortcuts' (Woolham, 2016) and found it immensly interesting how he refers to the past, to memories and to virtually sustained narratives in his work based on walks in areas where he grew up.
